How do you change the window colors and font?

This is a pretty basic option for a client, but there doesn't seem to be any way to change the background and text colors.

Going into world, edit, brings up a huge window of colors that , no matter how i poke at them, don't actually change anything. What gives?

Go to World->Edit. Then select the Display->Colors category. Chaging the colors there should work, unless the MUD you're connecting to does something unusual.
